At what point would one know the Victrelis™ combination treatment is not working?

UPDATE: As of January 2015 Merck announced it will discontinue selling Victrelis in the United States by the end of the year.

According to the prescribing information provided by Merck, treatment with Victrelis™ should be discontinued if HCV-RNA results at week 12 of therapy are greater than or equal to 100 IU/mL, OR, if there are confirmed detectable HCV-RNA levels at week 24 of therapy.
